What is glúnta?
Glúnta is a ministry endeavour of Calvary Church Loughrea to catalyse, support and resource churches across Ireland.
Ó ghlúin go glúin in Irish means “from one generation to the next.” However, the literal translation is more poetic: “from knee to knee.” Think of a child sitting on a parent’s or a grandparent’s knee, listening to them recount their stories, passing wisdom from one generation to the next. This is how stories are shared, how love and faith are shared.
Our vision as churches should be to see the Gospel impact lives and communities from one generation to the next—this is the heart of glúnta.
Cohorts
Our vision is to create an environment of support for healthy churches and leaders across Ireland.
As an initiative Glúnta does not directly plant churches, we believe that it is healthy churches that will naturally plant other healthy churches. To this end, our passion is to facilitate a healthy connection of like-minded churches and leaders where we can pray for one another, share resources with one another, and think strategically about establishing healthy churches in Ireland. By God's grace, our hope is that churches will find support and encouragement across Ireland from their peers, and serve the cause of the Gospel in sustainable and replicable ways to the glory of God.
